Soccer Game Preview: Temecula Valley vs. Chaparral

The Temecula Valley Golden Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Chaparral Pumas at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Temecula Valley lost 5-1 to Vista Murrieta on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Broncos are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, Chaparral has been on a difficult stretch since their win on November 19. They and Murrieta Mesa finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pumas as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Temecula Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1. With that draw, Chaparral's record moves to 1-7-2.

Temecula Valley took their win against Chaparral in their previous meeting on January 10th by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Temecula Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
