            Volleyball Recap: Doherty Spartans vs. Sand Creek Scorpions        
        
		
        
        
            Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They lost  3-0 to the Sand Creek Scorpions. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing  3-1 to the Scorpions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20,  25-14.
 Ryan Kaiser paced Doherty's offense, picking up nine kills. Kaiser got some help from  Elijah Morrison and his 17 assists. Finally,  Hayden Peterson kept Doherty's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
 Leading Sand Creek to victory were  Jacob Bridge and  Aiden Moss.  Bridge  had ten  digs and three  aces, while  Moss  had ten  digs and two  aces. The dominant performance gave  Bridge a new career-high in  aces.
Doherty's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Sand Creek, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 3-5.
 Doherty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  defeat against Cheyenne Mountain on the 19th. As for Sand Creek, they will challenge Fountain-Fort Carson at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Fountain-Fort Carson will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something Sand Creek surely won't give up without a fight.
