Soccer Recap: Harlingen Gets the Win

Harlingen's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged the McAllen Memorial Mustangs out 3-2. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Mustangs are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Juliana Garcia and Camila Hernandez scored all three of Harlingen's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

The victory got Harlingen back to even at 1-1. As for McAllen Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Harlingen wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 6-1 win against Juarez-Lincoln on the 4th. McAllen Memorial has also already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Los Fresnos on the 4th.
