St. Joseph had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Law Lawmen 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Cadets sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Katie Dzialo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 23 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gina Coppola was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Makena Hawkins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

St. Joseph's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Law, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Coming up, St. Joseph will face off against Brookfield at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cadets 1.2, the Bobcats 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Law does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
