Softball Game Preview: Milan Indians vs. Tri Titans

The Milan Indians will square off against the Tri Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Milan sitting on six straight wins and Tri on seven.

Milan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Hauser by a score of 7-2.

Meanwhile, Tri posted their closest victory since May 10th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past South Decatur 7-5.

Macey Ballard made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylan Mathews, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ann Bean, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Tri always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Decatur only posted an OBP of .333.

Tri's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Milan, their win bumped their record up to 25-9.
