Volleyball Recap: Tug Valley Panthers vs. Sherman Tide
After flying high against Phelps last Thursday, Tug Valley came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Sherman Tide on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tide recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22.
Sherman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Russell led the charge by getting seven digs and three aces. Russell has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 20 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Audrina Smith, who had 14 digs and two aces.
Tug Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Sherman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Tug Valley will venture away from home to take on Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sherman, they will head out to challenge Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
