Basketball Recap: Perkins County Comes Up Short

If Perkins County was riding high fresh off their 66-40 takedown of Sutherland last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Perkins County Plainsmen were beaten by the Chase County Longhorns 63-27 on Thursday. The match marked the Plainsmen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Perkins County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ella Homan, who posted ten points and three steals. Homan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.

Perkins County moved to 4-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Chase County, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Perkins County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-48 loss against Wauneta-Palisade on the 17th. As for Chase County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-34 defeat against Gothenburg on the 17th.
