Volleyball Recap: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Mooresville Pioneers

Monrovia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Mooresville Pioneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Pioneers since August 15, 2017.

While Monrovia had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.

Leading Mooresville to victory were Izzy Vanover and Ashlyn Nielsen. Vanover had 12 digs and three aces, while Nielsen had eight digs. That's the most aces Vanover has posted in her last ten matchups.

Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Mooresville, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-12.

Monrovia will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Eminence at 9:00 a.m. After both having extra time off, Mooresville and Decatur Central will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
