Flag Football Game Preview: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Oakdale Mustangs + Official Tickets

Manteca is a perfect 3-0 against Oakdale since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will venture away from home to square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Oakdale took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Manteca, who comes in off a win.

Manteca had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 38-point drubbing they dealt Mountain House on Thursday. The Buffaloes blew past the Mustangs 38-0. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Buffaloes' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Lily Dundas went supernova, throwing for 205 yards and four touchdowns, while also punching in one score on the ground. Those 205 passing yards gave her a new career-high.

Manteca didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Keira McCulley, Tatum Kusy Penirian, and Sari Lawson picked up one apiece. Lawson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Oakdale fell victim to Patterson and their airtight defense on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (27-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Manteca is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.4 points on average over those games. As for Oakdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Manteca against Oakdale in their previous matchup back in September, as the squad secured a 39-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
