Basketball Recap: Durand Skates Past Byron with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Durand). They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 68-26 victory over the Byron Eagles. With that win, the Railroaders brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Durand's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Carlson led the charge by putting up 14 points and four steals. Carlson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Izabell Konesny, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Durand smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Durand now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Byron, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Durand will face off against Chesaning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Byron, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Byron Eagles duke it out with the Lakeville Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
