Football Recap: Cedar Creek Christian Comes Up Short

Cedar Creek Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were outmatched by Trinity Prep and fell 42-0. The shutout was out of character for Cedar Creek Christian seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

As for Trinity Prep, they now have a winning record of 5-4. That looming 42-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Trinity Prep found their leader in sophomore Josh Shaw, who rushed for 101 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. Shaw has become a key player for Trinity Prep: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cedar Creek Christian will challenge Old Plank Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Defenders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity Prep, they will face off against Lake Highland Prep at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th. The game will give the Saints their first taste of in-conference action this season.
