Basketball Recap: Hanover Comes Up Short

Hanover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Centennial Rams, falling 48-5. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-3.

Journey Anderson was Hanover's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anai Medina, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and ten boards. Medina is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amaya Garcia, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Hanover's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Hanover has already played their next game, a 63-6 loss against Cheraw on the 25th. As for Centennial, they will square off against Sangre de Cristo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
