Basketball Recap: Braden River Takes a Loss

Braden River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 73-44 loss at the hands of the Plant City Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 396th, while the Raiders are ranked 174th).

Plant City was led to victory by Gavin Tinsley and Logan Teeden. Tinsley went 10 of 12 en route to 22 points and eight rebounds, while Teeden went 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points along with seven assists and five boards. Teeden has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Laurice Hamilton was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Braden River's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Plant City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Braden River and Lakewood will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Plant City, they and Sarasota will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
