Baseball Game Preview: Pana Panthers vs. North Mac Panthers

Pana will square off against North Mac at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Pana fell victim to Staunton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, North Mac had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Purple Panthers 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Purple Panthers since April 26, 2018.

North Mac pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pana, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Pana couldn't quite finish off North Mac when the teams last played back in March of 2023 and fell 3-1. Can Pana avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
