Basketball Game Preview: Foxcroft Academy Ponies vs. Ellsworth Eagles

The Foxcroft Academy Ponies will venture away from home to take on the Ellsworth Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, Foxcroft Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 32-26 to Presque Isle. The Ponies haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Ellsworth faced off against Hermon on Friday. Ellsworth managed a 53-48 victory over Hermon. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Ellsworth's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Foxcroft Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Foxcroft Academy was dealt a bruising 62-30 defeat at the hands of Ellsworth when the teams last played back in January. Can Foxcroft Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
