Basketball Game Preview: Fishers Tigers vs. Lawrence North Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Fishers Tigers challenge the Lawrence North Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Fishers didn't have too much trouble with Avon as they won 58-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Fishers' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nevaeh Dickman, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds, and Riley Schellhammer, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Schellhammer a new career-high in boards. Allison Scheu was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Meanwhile, Lawrence North came into Saturday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Ben Davis by a score of 61-52 on Saturday.

Fishers is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Lawrence North, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Fishers didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lawrence North in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-57 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Lawrence North's Kya Hurt, who went 9 for 18 on her way to 21 points. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Fishers still be able to contain Hurt? There's only one way to find out.
