Basketball Recap: The Academy of the Holy Cross Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It may have taken triple overtime to finish the job, but The Academy of the Holy Cross ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They managed a 63-59 win over the St. Mary's Ryken Knights. The Tartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

The Academy of the Holy Cross' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenly Wu, who went 8-for-17 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Wu is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Travers, who posted 13 points and three steals.

St. Mary's Ryken's loss came despite strong showings from Jameela James and Olaoluwa 'Olu' Enajekpo. James dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards, while Enajekpo dropped a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds.
