Softball Recap: San Bernardino Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

San Bernardino's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pacific Pirates an 18-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Audrina Reyes was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Reyes was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, San Bernardino got a massive performance out of Leah Torres, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Torres has posted since back in March. Xochitl Sasser was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

San Bernardino is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Pacific, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

San Bernardino will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
