Volleyball Recap: Homestead Triumphs

Homestead won the last time they faced Leo and things went their way on Thursday too. The Spartans came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-1.

Homestead had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-13, 25-19, 29-27.

Homestead can attribute much of their success to Avary Heady, who had five digs and two aces.

Heady wasn't the only good server: Homestead was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

The win got Homestead back to even at 1-1. As for Leo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Homestead will be taking part in a tournament against NorthWood at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Leo, they will challenge Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
