Soccer Recap: Durham Charter Comes Up Short

Durham Charter managed to keep up with Youngsville Academy Charter until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Lions came up short against the Firebirds, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Youngsville Academy Charter this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 last Thursday.

Durham Charter is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Youngsville Academy Charter, they, and Hillside. As for the Firebirds, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durham Charter will venture away from home to square off against Hillside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Durham Charter will be up against Hillside's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.67 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Youngsville Academy Charter, they will square off against Bethesda Christian Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
