Baseball Game Preview: Bartram Trail Bears vs. Providence School Stallions

The Bartram Trail Bears will head out to take on the Providence School Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Bartram Trail nor Providence School posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Bartram Trail's tournament run continued when they took on Hagerty on Friday. Bartram Trail came up short against Hagerty, falling 13-2. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jonathan Bay made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Providence School's offense. They lost 10-0 to Trinity Christian Academy on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Stallions in their meetings with the Conquerors: they've now lost five in a row.

Providence School also got a good showing from JJ Matuson, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Matuson has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Providence School's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Bartram Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Bartram Trail was able to grind out a solid victory over Providence School in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bartram Trail since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
