Softball Recap: Harlan Wins Going Away Against Bell County

Harlan got themselves on the board against Bell County on Monday, but Bell County never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Green Dragons, who have now won 14 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jordyn Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Harlan let Abby Fields and Ella Lisenbee run wild. Fields went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Lisenbee went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Fields has posted since back in March. Ella Farley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Harlan's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Bell County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-16.

As of now, neither Harlan nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
