Football Recap: Conroe Drops Season-High Score on Oak Ridge

Conroe hadn't done well against Oak Ridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers walked away with a 38-29 victory over the War Eagles. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Conroe's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. In that department, Justandon Pruitt was the leader with two sacks. Conroe received some extra help from James Koslosky, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The win made it two in a row for Conroe and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points over those games. As for Oak Ridge, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, Conroe and Oak Ridge will both be playing Grand Oaks the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the War Eagles will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
