Volleyball Recap: Saydel Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Saydel duked it out with Perry on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 3-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Saydel lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24, 15-13.

Kalley Whelchel was a one-woman wrecking crew For Perry. as she had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Whelchel has posted since back in September of 2024.

Saydel's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Perry, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Perry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Panorama on the 27th. Hopefully Saydel paid attention to the Bluejays' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
