Basketball Recap: Chillicothe Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Chillicothe lost to Washington back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Chillicothe Cavaliers managed a 59-54 victory over the Washington Blue Lions.

Washington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roman Chijevsky, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Chijevsky a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Haithcock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Chillicothe's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Washington, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Chillicothe will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hilliard Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Washington, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-51 defeat against Unioto on the 27th.
