Volleyball Recap: Seminole Falls to Lake Howell in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Seminole unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Lake Howell Silverhawks on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seminoles of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Seminole was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Lia Hufford and Mckaylah Mattis, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Jazleen Irizarry and her eight assists. Sophie Hertz controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Howell, they will challenge Melbourne Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
