Softball Game Preview: Plano Reapers vs. Woodstock North Thunder

Plano is 0-3 against Woodstock North since April of 2024 but things could change on Thursday. The Reapers will face off against the Thunder at 4:30 p.m. Plano is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Plano is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 29 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Sandwich on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Chesney Schimandle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Plano saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Rowe, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Woodstock North's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 10-5 to Marengo.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13-1. As for Woodstock North, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Plano might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Woodstock North when the teams last played on April 10th. Can the Reapers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
