Softball Recap: Natomas Takes a Loss

Natomas had lost seven straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-18 to make it eight. They came up short against the Casa Roble Rams, falling 23-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-0 back in April.

As for Casa Roble, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games.

For Casa Roble's part, Melanie Stephens was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. What's more, Stephens posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Giannini, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

As of now, neither Natomas nor Casa Roble have any future games scheduled.
