Basketball Recap: NC GBB Academy National Falls Short Against Ranked Grace Christian

On Thursday, NC GBB Academy National faced Grace Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The NC GBB Academy National Eagles fell 73-65 to the Grace Christian Crusaders. The Eagles have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Grace Christian found their leader in sophomore Jordan Speller, who posted 30 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Speller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Halisi WHitley, who earned eight points along with six assists and five boards.

NC GBB Academy National's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Grace Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NC GBB Academy National will take on Winston Salem Christian on February 7th. As for Grace Christian, they and Ravenscroft will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Grace Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.
