Basketball Recap: Jarrett Franklin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Fort Bend Kempner

Randle's game on Tuesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 victory over the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since December 3, 2024.

Randle's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarrett Franklin, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yanni Ibikunle, who scored eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Bend Kempner lost, don't look at Mario James. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Harris, who put up seven points and five steals.

Randle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Fort Bend Kempner, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Victoria East the next time they take the court. Fort Bend Kempner will host Victoria East at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Randle will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
