Softball Game Preview: Everett Alvarez Eagles vs. Palma Chieftains

The Everett Alvarez Eagles will head out to square off against the Palma Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Everett Alvarez will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Three must be Everett Alvarez's lucky number: they beat Mountain View with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 3-0 shutout.

Amaris Perez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Palma narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Chico 2-0.

The team relied heavily on Analysia Rocha, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Palma hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chico struck out seven times.

Everett Alvarez's record now sits at 11-8. As for Palma, their record is now 5-8-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Everett Alvarez has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palma struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts.
