Preview: Sparta Spartans vs. La Crosse Logan Rangers
The Sparta Spartans will look to defend their home court on Friday against the La Crosse Logan Rangers at 7:15 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Sparta suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-28 walloping at the hands of Holmen. Sparta has not had much luck with Holmen recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Sparta had strong showings from Elexa Jones, who scored 16 points along with five steals, and Corin Milne, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Meanwhile, La Crosse Logan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 47-43 to Chippewa Falls.
Sparta's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for La Crosse Logan, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
