Recap: Upson-Lee Knights vs. Savannah Country Day Hornets
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Upson-Lee Knights had no problem doing just that on Friday. They slipped by Savannah Country Day 46-45. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Upson-Lee's zero-point performance the game before.
Upson-Lee found their leader in underclassman Nicholas Wells, who threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Ja'Quan Bentley, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns.
Upson-Lee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Savannah Country Day, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4.
Upson-Lee will square off against Carver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carver is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. Savannah Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
