Game recap: Concord High School Football Team wins against South Point

CONCORD, N.C. - South Point (Belmont, N.C.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 6 in North Carolina, but was stunned by Concord (N.C.), 21-13. Concord was ranked at No. 34 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for North Carolina coming into the week.

After taking the lead on a Rocky Reid touchdown run in the first quarter, the Spiders were up 14-7 at the half.

Concord saw its 7-point halftime lead decrease to one entering the fourth.

CHS led by as many as 14 points before the Red Raiders cut into the final margin.



The Spiders came into the game allowing 16.6 points per game. South Point's 13 points were well below its season average of 37.8 per game.

The loss comes after South Point defeated Burns 51-14 last week.
