Canyon View is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will welcome the North Canyon Rattlers at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Canyon View has 13 straight wins, North Canyon has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Canyon View's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Paradise Valley 22-0. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mia Jacobs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sedona Hernandez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Jones, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, North Canyon came up short against Kellis on Monday, falling 15-7.
Madison Kirby made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hamilton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Even though they lost, North Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Canyon View's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.0 runs over those games. As for North Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
