Soccer Game Preview: Novato vs. Archie Williams

The Novato Hornets will square off against the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Novato's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Novato fell victim to Redwood and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Giants, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1029th, while the Giants are ranked 204th).

Meanwhile, Archie Williams kept a clean sheet against San Marin on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Mustangs. The matchup marked the Peregrine Falcons' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Novato's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Archie Williams, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-3 record this season.

Novato came up short against Archie Williams when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Novato avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
