Basketball Recap: Ridgeway Takes a Loss

Ridgeway lost against Southwind back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ridgeway Roadrunners lost 61-39 to the Southwind Jaguars. The game marked the Roadrunners' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Ridgeway lost, don't look at Kayin Mitchell. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points.

Southwind's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Edwards led the charge by putting up nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronald Towns, who posted ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Ridgeway and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Southwind, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Ridgeway wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-47 loss against Southwind on the 13th. As for Southwind, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-51 defeat against Hillsboro on the 7th.
