Softball Recap: Blackhawk Wins Going Away Against Western Beaver

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Blackhawk had no problem doing just that on Monday. They put the hurt on the Western Beaver Golden Beavers with a sharp 14-4 victory. That looming 14-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Kylie Prisuta made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Eva Parris was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Ramer, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Blackhawk kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Beaver only managed five hits.

Blackhawk is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Western Beaver, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Blackhawk nor the Golden Beavers have any future games scheduled.
