Baseball Recap: Shelby Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelby). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Crestview Cougars a 12-0 shutout on Saturday. The Whippets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.

Shelby's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 6.8 runs this season. As for Crestview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Shelby will face off against Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Crestview, they will square off against South Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
