Baseball Recap: Stanwood Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

On Friday Stanwood's undefeated season almost came to an end. They never let the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Spartans were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Warriors, so the Spartans were just returning the favor.

Stanwood's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Skyler McLain, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Connor Clifton also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Stanwood's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Edmonds-Woodway, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Stanwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Port Angeles on the 5th. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they will host Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
