Trinity comes up short despite Luka Robles' dominant performance

The Trinity Wolves were the 61-44 winner over the Central Valley Falcons when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Trinity fell just short of Central Valley by a score of 56-54. Trinity has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Luka Robles. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. The match was Robles' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Carver Dresselhaus was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.

Central Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vincent Vanpal out in front who scored 24 points along with six steals. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Webster, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals.

Trinity's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Central Valley, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will face off against St. Bernard's at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Central Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Corning at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corning is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
