Basketball Recap: Greenville Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Greenville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 54-47 to the Holmes County Central Jaguars on Friday. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was De'Marion Gibson, who posted 23 points. Gibson's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jay Titus was another key player, putting up six points and 11 rebounds.

Greenville's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Holmes County Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Greenville will take on Callaway in a holiday battle at on Thursday. Greenville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season. As for Holmes County Central, they and McLaurin will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
