Basketball Game Preview: Chalmette Owls vs. Slidell Tigers

The Chalmette Owls will head out on the road to challenge the Slidell Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chalmette is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-35, which was the final score in Chalmette's tilt against Fontainebleau on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 83rd).

Meanwhile, Slidell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 62-48 bruising from Salmen.

Chalmette's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Slidell, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

Chalmette beat Slidell 52-44 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chalmette since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
