Basketball Recap: Carter Baker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palm Grove Christian over Community Christian

Palm Grove Christian lost against Community Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Palm Grove Christian Gators came up short against the Community Christian Crusaders, falling 61-39. The Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Baker, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Gabe Troyer, who had ten points and eight rebounds.

Palm Grove Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Community Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Palm Grove Christian has already played their next contest, a 58-35 victory against The Classical Academy of Sarasota on the 14th. As for Community Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-41 win against Ruskin Christian on the 14th.
