Softball Recap: Rogers Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Bentonville

Rogers faced Bentonville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mountaineers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Rogers has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Bentonville, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rogers will square off against rival Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bentonville is set to challenge their familiar foe Har-Ber at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 1.5, the Wildcats 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
