Softball Recap: Apex Extends Winning Streak to Four

Apex extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 9-6 in the process. They never let the Green Level Gators get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leah Kendall was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Austin, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

As for Green Level, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. While getting shut out isn't ideal, they haven't been shut out since back in February.

On Green Level's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shiloh Lynch, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Lynch has hit this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Apex is set to challenge their familiar foe Apex Friendship at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Green Level will face off against rival Green Hope at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
