Softball Recap: Apex Has No Trouble Against Green Level

Apex got themselves on the board against Green Level on Wednesday, but Green Level never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Gators. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Leah Kendall was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blakely Sellers, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Apex was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Apex's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Green Level, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Apex has already played their next contest, a 10-1 loss against Apex Friendship on the 24th. As for Green Level, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-4 victory against Green Hope on the 25th.
