Soccer Game Preview: Simley vs. Hastings

The Simley Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Hastings Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hastings took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Simley, who comes in off a win.

Simley is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Richfield on Saturday as they made off with an 8-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Hastings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rosemount. While losing is never fun, Hastings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Rosemount are ranked third).

Simley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hastings, they now have a losing record of 4-5-2.

Simley might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Hastings when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
