Soccer Game Preview: Covington vs. Brighton

The Covington Chargers will take on the Brighton Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Covington will be strutting in after a win while Brighton will be coming in after a defeat.

Covington will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Millington Central, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Chargers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 5-2 victory on Friday. Covington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Brighton came up short against University School of Jackson on Thursday, falling 5-1. Brighton were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Jayden Edwards, who's now up to 17 this season.

Covington's win bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
