Volleyball Game Preview: Churubusco Eagles vs. Fairfield Falcons

Churubusco hasn't had much luck against Fairfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m.

Churubusco managed to slip by Lakeland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Lakers on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Lakers since October 6, 2020.

Churubusco was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-19, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Fairfield posted their closest victory since September 18th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Westview 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Fairfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-16, 15-6.

Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Churubusco, their loss dropped their record down to 7-18.
